Zunka Bhakar

Ingredients:

For Zunka:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 3–4 garlic cloves (chopped)

  • 2 green chilies (chopped)

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/2 cup water (approx.)

  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)

For Bhakar (Bhakri):

  • 1 cup jowar flour

  • Warm water

  • Salt (optional)

Steps:

To make Zunka:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.

  2. Add garlic, green chilies, and onion. Sauté until soft.

  3. Add turmeric and salt.

  4. Add besan and mix well. Sprinkle water slowly and stir continuously.

  5. Cook on low heat until the mixture becomes dry and crumbly. Garnish with coriander.

To make Bhakar:

  1. Mix jowar flour and salt with warm water to form a soft dough.

  2. Make a ball and flatten it into a round roti with your hands.

  3. Cook on a hot pan until both sides are done.
